The Meta Data Center in New Albany, Ohio, is a key component ofMeta’s global infrastructure, powering the technologies and services thatconnect billions of people worldwide. The groundbreaking for this $1.5 billionfacility took place in 2017, marking the start of a project that would soonemploy over 1,200 construction workers and eventually create more than 300full-time jobs. Additionally, the center contributes over $5.5 million annuallyto local school funding, underscoring its long-term value to the community.
Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group was among the first contractors onsite, working alongside the George J. Igel Company to ensure the project'ssuccess from the ground up. Between January and November 2022, our team wastasked with soil modification and soil stabilization across nearly 620,000square yards of the site. This process involved the application of over 42,000tons of lime kiln dust, effectively preparing the ground to support the massiveinfrastructure of the data center.
Our involvement in the New Albany Data Center project reflects Mt.Carmel Stabilization Group’s extensive experience in supporting data centerconstruction. As a preferred contractor for soil stabilization in this sector,we have played a crucial role in the development of both edge and hyperscaledata centers across six states. Since 2018, we have modified and stabilizedover 6.7 million cubic yards of soil and installed more than 400,000 tons ofmaterial on data center projects.
