As a leading chemical soil stabilization contractor in the United States, Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group (MTCSG) is committed to delivering the highest level of quality for our customers, employees, industry partners, and the broader construction community.

That commitment is underscored by a strong engineering team.

At Mt. Carmel, our engineering team is made up of highly skilled professionals who work together to add value at every stage of a project, from early business development and pre-construction planning through construction execution and project close-out. The team’s purpose is clear: to provide unmatched expertise on every project and help lead the industry at every step.

Supporting the Industry Through Expertise and Involvement

Our engineering team plays an active role in advancing the soil stabilization industry. Mt. Carmel’s involvement goes beyond individual projects and includes participation in industry education, training, and technical development.

This includes attending, exhibiting, and speaking at regional and national conferences, leading industry lunch-and-learns, participating in specialized training, and contributing to trade associations and specification committees. These efforts help us stay connected to the latest practices, technologies, and expectations within the construction and geotechnical communities.

Our team is also involved early in pre-construction and industry project discussions, allowing us to provide technical insight before work begins in the field.

Advancing Material Knowledge and Testing

Chemical soil stabilization requires a deep understanding of materials, soils, and project-specific conditions. Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group is an industry leader in laboratory and field trials involving a variety of soil stabilization chemicals.

Our in-house laboratory, along with our strong network of industry partner laboratories, allows us to evaluate materials, support project decisions, and coordinate testing efforts. When new chemicals or treatment approaches are proposed, our engineering team helps perform or coordinate field trials to better understand performance, constructability, and quality outcomes.

This focus on testing and material knowledge helps us make informed recommendations and deliver more reliable results for our customers.

Adding Value During Pre-Construction and Bidding

The engineering team provides critical support during the pre-construction and bidding phase. For large-scale projects, our engineers review bidding documents alongside estimators to summarize key data, identify potential concerns, and help develop a clear understanding of project requirements.

The team also drafts pre-bid questions related to geotechnical data, specifications, chemical selection, and material testing requirements. When appropriate, MTCSG’s engineers prepare value engineering proposals as bid alternates, helping clients evaluate practical and cost-effective solutions.

By engaging early, our team helps reduce uncertainty, improve planning, and position each project for success.

Supporting Construction in the Field

Once construction begins, Mt. Carmel’s engineering team remains closely involved. The team coordinates and reviews field and laboratory testing, assists field crews with troubleshooting, and supports superintendents with documentation and quality control. When field test results are poor or when internal quality control checks are needed, the team can perform in-house field testing to help identify issues and determine the best path forward.

Our engineers also assist with fine-grading operations, grade file submissions, and grade troubleshooting.

This hands-on support helps ensure that construction teams have the technical resources they need to perform efficiently and maintain MTCSG’s quality standards.

Driving Continuous Improvement

In addition to project-specific support, the Mt. Carmel engineering team is focused on department goals and long-term improvement initiatives.

Current areas of focus include intelligent compaction tracking, developing databases to compare performance data against field testing results, researching new stabilization chemicals, investigating surveying systems, and reviewing construction quality plan metrics.

These efforts allow us to better understand project performance, improve internal processes, and continue raising the standard for chemical soil stabilization.

Leading at Every Step

At Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group, engineering is more than a support function. It is a core part of how we deliver value, manage quality, solve problems, and advance the industry.

Through technical expertise, industry involvement, material testing, pre-construction support, field troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, the MTCSG engineering team helps ensure that every project is approached with the knowledge, discipline, and commitment our clients expect.
